Education:
Question: What is the difference between 5% Benzoyl Peroxide Face & Body Wash and Salicylic Face & Body Wash?
Answer: Salicylic Face & Body Wash is our suggested go-to cleanser for normal to oily skin in anti-aging and hyperpigmentation skincare regimens, as well as for acne regimens. 5% BP Face & Body Wash is only suitable for acne regimens, and the two cleansers combat different types of acne.
For acne patients, the main distinction between 5% Benzoyl Peroxide (BP) Face & Body Wash and Salicylic Face & Body Wash is that BP will be helpful for inflammatory acne as well as comedonal, whereas Salicylic will be much for helpful for comedonal acne, and should sometimes be avoided if there are a lot of inflammatory lesions.
If someone has a history of aspirin-allergy, is pregnant, or has moderate to severe rosacea, do not use a product containing Salicylic Acid. If someone has a history of drying or allergy from OTC products like Clearisil or Proactive, or is pregnant, do not use a product containing BP.
