About Heath Skin
Heath Skin Cosmeceuticals Founder Michelle began her skincare journey in childhood when she struggled with acne. She trained as a beauty therapist, being awarded the prestigious C.I.D.E.S.C.O certificate, she also holds a BSc in Human Nutrition. She has worked for over 20 years in the skincare industry, the past 16 years in doctor-led clinics as a senior therapist. She continues to work in clinic, supporting clients with skin concerns from acne, to rosacea, to skin ageing with the use of cosmeceuticals, nutrition and laser therapies.
Her experience of using numerous skincare brands both in and out of clinical settings never quite met everything on her a product wish list: a highly effective, medical-grade skincare range that was dermatologically and clinically tested, yet delicate and lightweight with a natural fragrance that would not irritate sensitive skin. Packaging that looked beautiful on the dressing table, products free from harmful additives and preservatives, and she didn’t want to feel guilty about the environmental impact of her purchases. As a result, Heath Cosmeceuticals was created.
Developed with board certified dermatologists and tested in a clinical setting, the Heath Cosmeceuticals range is luxurious, high quality and affordable. Medical-grade active ingredients – that are also lightweight and irritant-free – protect the skin from UV radiation and environmental pollutants, while soothing, natural botanicals and herbs nurture even the most sensitive of skins to maintain its delicate balance.
“I even use Heath products on my children,” says Michelle. “At the age of 12, and with those adolescent hormones starting to appear, my eldest is learning about good skincare, while my 8-year-old son’s winter rosacea-type symptoms are kept in check. I see an amazing difference in their delicate skins, as well as in my own.”
The Heath brand name was inspired by Suffolk’s wild and beautiful cliff-top heathlands – a favourite place during Michelle’s childhood.
“The heath near where I grew up is a wild, dramatic, beautiful place at any time of year, but it really comes alive each summer – a patchwork of pink and purple heather, and yellow, coconut-scented gorse. Its beauty seems to defy its harsh, North Sea-battered and windswept environment. This reminded me of the challenges our skin faces each day. Weather, UV radiation, pollution, stress – it all takes its toll on the once-perfect skin we had as a baby, yet – like human-led conservation efforts to preserve our fragile heathland ecosystems, with the right care, attention and skincare products, healthy skin can flourish. It’s beauty that defies its environment.”
